New posts coming soon!

Hey guys! Sorry I have been so swamped lately I have not been able to post as much :( I plan on writing at least one (hopefully more) post by Tuesday.

#1 & #2 Elf haul and photos in two posts. I want to post what I ordered along with the set that came with it for free!

#3 full Review of the Stila One Step Bronze that I received in my Birchbox this month, per request.

Pride Parade 2012 Makeup

Hello all! Hope your Wednesday is going well. On the bright side the week is half over! :)

This past Sunday I went to the Pride Parade and decided to wear some colorful makeup.

The look:
Products used:

To begin, I used my Dr. Jart + - Waterfuse BB Cream (now I'm all out [super sad face]) and my e.l.f. Studio Flawless Finish Foundation that also had SPF 15. I knew I'd be out in the sun for a few hours and needed protection. Next I applied my Urban Decay's Eye Shadow Primer Potion to my eyelids.

I tried to make some kind of rainbow using the colors I had in my e.l.f. Studio Makeup Clutch Palette and my Too Faced World Domination Tour All Access Backstage Beauty Kit (no longer available) that were also in my tie-dyed shirt.

From my e.l.f. palette, I used a shade of green, aqua blue, peach, and pink on my lid. I used a golden yellow on my brow bone and the purple under my lower lash line from the Too Faced kit.

For my eyeliner I used my Marbella: Permanent Eyeliner Pen. I really love this eyeliner, because its long lasting and doesn't smudge. That being said, I did have a really hard time removing it because I put it on thicker for this look. It stained my lids faintly mostly in the outer corner of my eye. When I put on makeup the next day it was hardly noticible. I will add a picture soon. I snapped one but I forgot to bring my camera with me to work. (Yes, I write posts at work since there is nothing else to do. )

I also use my Three Custom Color Specialist - creme to powder blush in "Beige" and the Andrea modlash Starter Kit from the giveaway I won (see post here). You can kind of see that the lash is starting to come off. This picture was taken after I got home from the parade. Sorry about the bad quality, its from my cell phone.

Let me know what you think of the look :) If you also went to Pride in your city, how did you do your makeup?

As always, thanks for stopping by

Nail Dilemma! What should I do?

Hey there!

Recently, I've been trying to grow out my nails. This used to be extremely hard for me, because I bit my nails all the time. During college I was able to stop when I wasn't stressed out (during summer, mostly). Graduate school led me to start biting my nails again and I haven't been able to keep them long enough to look okay painted. I've made so much progress and my nails actually seem somewhat strong. Although I have bent them back on accident at work (ouch!).

So, back to my dilemma. I really want to learn guitar and my boyfriend finally started teaching me how. I realized that I can't have the nails on my left hand long, because my finger can't properly hold down the string as close as it needs to against the fret. This was so frustrating! Especially because I found a super easy tutorial on panda nail art on WikiHow

Here are my nails now:
Right

Left
Would it look really stupid if my nails were slightly longer on my right hand? I just plan on doing the panda art on my thumb nail of my left hand (since I don't need to use that one) and painting the rest of the nails on that hand black and white. Maybe trying the ombre look, who knows!

Let me know what you guys think! Thanks for the help in advance!

Check out Sneakpeeq!

Hey there!

If you haven't heard of Sneekpeeq its a site that features some unique boutiques that you can browse, like their Facebook page, and purchase items at a discount. First you take a quiz so they can determine which boutiques you would like best. You don't initially see the prices of the items, but you can "peek" at them and see your discount. You get 20 "peeks" a day.

They have had several different start up gifts during the past few weeks. I joined and was able to get this Dazzling Gems summer cocktail ring. These retail for $37. I definitely would not pay that much, so I was happy to get it for free! Right now for just checking out the site you can get Hearts of Beauty earrings for free, which are a $49 value!

I received my ring with a "lucky gemstone" in orange which represents Joy. They send you a surprise ring, so you don't know the color, size, or material. I was worried that when I got the ring in the mail that it wouldn't fit, but luckily it did! I guess it really was lucky.

I read that some people's fingers turned green after wearing the ring, but thankfully mine hasn't yet. The quality doesn't appear to be very good, but hey it was free. I think its a cute ring and I really like wearing it. Its similar to something I would purchase on my own (maybe in a better quality, though).

I think there are some really great boutiques on the site though and I would recommend checking them out! I really love the vendors that sell purses, home decor, and makeup. If I had more money I'd totally buy from them. The discounts that you get sometimes are mind blowing! You can also earn badges where you get free shipping from some of the vendors or 10-20% off your purchases. These expire however, so you have to use them pretty quickly.

Here is my referral link if you are interested. You get $10 when you join and free shipping on the item they feature for free.

My first Look Bag: June - Full Contents Review

Sorry that this post is so late. It was extremely difficult for me to find accurate retail pricing for some of these products, because they are no longer available on their manufacturer's sites. I also found some deals on these products, for much cheaper than their asking price. One thing that dissapointed me is that The Look Store does not have a list of the products from this month's bag up yet. You can't even see what was in last month's bag. I was waiting to post this until I had accurate info on the pricing...

Anyway on to additional information about the contents!
#1 - Atopalm: Intensive Moisturizing Cream
(.25 fl oz/ 8 ml) Worth ~ $2.20
Full size = $30.00 (3.4 fl oz / 100 ml)
NeoPharm is based in Camarillo, CA - Product is made in Korea
"Formulated without the use of parabens, this incredibly rich moisturizing cream is a gentle yet thorough way to replenish hydration. By mimicking natural skin lipids, it is able to replenish lost lipids while simultaneously preventing over-evaporation of the skin’s natural moisture. Finally, Intensive Moisturizing Cream shields the skin against the damage and discomfort associated with environmental stress, leaving the skin feeling fresh, soft, and perfectly comfortable."

Really great for sensitive skin too! I have used this some on my elbows and heels. I haven't seen much of a difference as of yet, but I have not been using it consistently. The sample size is really small, so I was debating about keeping it until the weather gets dry again.

.14 fl oz/ 4ml (Worth ~ $11.50)
Full size: 1.7 fl oz is $96.00; .5 is $41.00
Snowberry is based in New Zealand and Product is made in New Zealand
I actually received a "rich day cream" so I'm kind of confused if I should apply it at night or in the morning. This was one product I really wanted to check out on their site to see if I received the wrong one.

I watched another members video on youtube and she mentioned that this product was $159. I do not know where she got that price from, but the online stores that sell this product (linked directly from Snowberry) all have $41 or 95 depending on the size of the bottle. Maybe the night cream is actually $159. The pricing above is for the day cream.

"Designed for normal to dry skin, the Rich Day Cream is a powerful and highly absorbable anti-aging formula that nourishes, smoothes, moisturises and revitalises.

  • Helps to smooth, restructure and hydrate the epidermis.
  • Contains Mycosoprin Extract that clinical trials have shown assists to protect the skin from possible per-oxidation via UVA and environmental pollutants
  • Helps to maintain healthy skin ecology
  • Helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles
  • Contains Superoxide dismutase that clinical trials have shown assists the natural production of Collagen, Elastins, Fibronectins, Keratinocytes and hyaluronic acids.
  • Increases moisturisation and cellular hydration.
  • Non Irritant (Occular & Dermal Tested)
  • Non Sensitising
  • Significant skin moisturisation improvement activity of 39.64%
  • Anti-free radical activity (3D test)"
  • pH Balanced
  • Botanical Ingredients
  • Paraben Free
  • Clinically and allegery tested; non-irritating
Our formulators were inspired by sensual botanical ingredients and the challenge of creating a healthier body crème with the potential to make skin appear younger and evoke delight and desire.

For centuries, vanilla has been considered an aphrodisiac and in studies men associate its scent with Love."

It does a lot of great stuff so I can't wait to actually try it! You can find products at thelookstore.com or thedermstore.com.

#3 - Korres: Eyeshadow in Golden Green (Full Size)
full size 1.8g/0.06oz for $5-18 depending on the site.
Korres products are made in Greece.
This color kind of looks like a poop green just in the case, but it really is a golden green shade (see picture below). It blends together nicely and applies smoothly and evenly. The packaging is very simplistic. The brand isn't stapled on the top, it just says Athens, where this product is manufactured. From some research online, Korres is really passionate about using only natural and organic ingredients in their skincare products.

Swatched on my arm.
#4 - Prescriptives: Lip and Eye Pencil Sharpener
Full size for $1.50-5, again depending on the site.
Again, I had a tough time finding this product online. It is not listed on their site under makeup accessories. It used to be at Macy's but is no longer there. This company has been around since 1979, where they targeted "custom colors for women," but has only recently   (2011) "refreshed" their products. Their products are sold exclusively online now.

#5 - Naked Princess: Body Souffle in Vanille Blanc (Personal product based off my Beauty Profile)
.92 fl oz/26 ml worth ~ $9.00
$55.00 for 5.6 fl oz/ 166 ml
Naked Princess Worldwide LLC is based in Beverly Hills, CA - Product is made in the USA.
"A luxurious vitamin-rich body crème formulated to hydrate, nourish & pamper skin.
Inspiration:

It's nice that I got lotion for my personal product, since I love any kind of lotion, but since this whole bag had skin care products, it would have been nice to get something else. Other people got lip gloss or lip liner.
I can't smell too much of the vanilla, but it does have a nice scent. I haven't used it much yet, since I have so many different kinds of lotions.

Overall Verdict:
I will give the Look Bag another month or so, but I have to cut down on one of my subscriptions in September, so this one might be it. Nothing against the Look Bag, I just need to save money. What did you get in your Look Bag for your personal product? How did you like this month's bag?

Again here is the link to my video :) Sorry that for some reason none of the items will focus on my camera.. :/

Do you have dry/cracked lips or bite your lips like me?

I was browsing through The Beauty Department and saw a post that featured a great tip to take care of your lips!

We all suffer dry/cracked lips at one point or another due to dehydration, flying (I didn't know this), poor lip care, etc., and this affects the way lipstick looks on us. To make matters worse, I also bite my lips when I'm anxious and the marks are highlighted when I use lipstick if I don't use some kind of lip treatment/balm under it. The Beauty Department came up with a similar, but more effective, trick to help smooth your lips, just in case you don't exfoliate often.

This picture is directly from their post.
I'm definitely going to try this. They also say you can do this (minus the balm) with your toothbrush after brushing your teeth to get off any dry skin.

Has anyone else tried this before? I'll let you know if it works for me!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Do you wear a tinted sunscreen or rely solely on makeup with SPF?

I was reading through this months edition of Women's Health and an article on sunscreen caught my eye entitled "No More SPF Excuses." I figured it was a relevant read since I just got my Look Bag with all my skin care products that help fight damage due to UV ray exposure, pollution, and what not.

One of the excuses mentioned in the article is "My makeup has SPF in it" which is totally why I don't wear my sunscreen on my face on a normal basis. I even stopped using it at the beach once I got makeup that had SPF in it, because I hate the greasy feeling of sunscreen. How about you? Do you use this same excuse?

That's how I feel.
I was doing some searching online though, and there are lighter formulas of sunblock that don't have such a heavy oil base. That's something I need to look into. Aveena was one of the brands that popped up often, along with Neutrogena.

Apparently, if you are using a mineral powder (I do) then you have to use "ten times the normal amount" to protect your skin with just the single product. WOW. I was definitely guilty of wearing no sunscreen before I got my e.l.f. Mineral Starter Kit which has SPF 15. But then I would just wear this product by itself, thinking I was protected. Then in my May Birchbox I got my Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25+. I feel like I'm set now. The BB cream is a sunscreen, moisturizer, and treatment serum. Its really a great product! Although, recently I've stopped using it because I ran out :( I need to purchase a full size of this ASAP!

Found through a Google Image Search
Do you guys recommend any other BB creams? This one costs $32 for 1.7fl oz. I need a better deal! I mean its obviosly worth the money, so I might wait til I have enough points to buy it. If you'd like to help me out with that you can sign up for Birchbox and I'll get 50 points. That's halfway to $10 off a product. Doesn't that sound like an amazing reward? That's why I love Birchbox! Click here to sign up :D

What other kinds of products do you use to keep your skin protected?

Victorias Secret Bombshell Eau de Parfum

From June 1-3 Victorias Secret had a promotion going on where you could get their new Bombshell fragrance if you got a  bra fitting. This was perfect timing for their semi annual sale that started this past Tuesday. If you haven't tried this fragrance, I highly recommend it. Full size is a bit pricey for me, but I was reading on another blog that they have a makeup set that you can buy (I'm not sure how many are left) that has a larger sample size than the one shown here. I wanted to see if I could pick one of those up, but I haven't gotten around to it. I'm sure there are none left since it was a great deal.

Full size - $49-65

Have you tried this fragrance yet? What do you think about it? What fragrances do you recommend?

Thanks for stopping by! :)

--- Other products that you might want to try. I am not affiliated at all with these brands.---

Prizes I won for A Diva's Prerogative's Spring Mega Beauty Giveaway.

So this is the second giveaway I've won through blogger contests. I won a previous goodie bag of makeup through Facebook Givaways, but that was weeks ago and still never received anything. So I don't think I'm getting that one. Oh well, because this giveaway's prizes were awesome!

Prize Contents:

I am most excited to try the lashes since I haven't used any falsies before. It will definitely take some time to get used to applying them, and probably wearing them since they will feel heavier than my normal eye lashes.

I have tried the Almay Intense i-color/smoky kit already, along with the mascara. I love them! I used them in my previous post for the myglam spring look contest. I also have been using the blush everyday. I had never used a cream blush before I got this product, but I really like it. It goes on smoothly and the color is great! Its a nice nude-ish shade.

I still need to watch some youtube videos before I try out the lip tattoos. I'm not sure how I feel about them yet, but I'm willing to try them out. I'm sure they aren't that permanent...Should be cute because it says "love" on it and the red will look nice. There are tutorials on the site as well, which is super convenient.

Many thanks to Patricia for hosting this giveaway!! If you wanna check out Patricia's blog and view her other giveaways click here. She does a lot of reviews from products she received from Influencer, which I'm in the process of joining. Waiting for a box opening...

My First Look Bag: June 2012

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

So yesterday I got my Look Bag in the mail and was super excited to open it! I made a video and will be posting a full review with pictures shortly. This video is a little less organized (not that the other two were) than normal, because I had not yet opened the bag to see the products. The Look Bag's facebook page only showed one preview picture of an item in the bag, so I had no idea what to expect.

This month's bag focused on skin care products that will moisturize, protect, and rejuvenate your skin, especially during these summer months when we are outdoors a lot more and vulnerable to UV rays and pollution.

Check out my video for now!

June Birchbox: Contents and Review

Here is my promised post and sorry it took so long! Work has been keeping me busy and I didn't have my normal day off yesterday (gotta make that money!).

So DUN DUN DUNN! Here is my June Birchbox! I will link all the products I got to Birchbox's website and the products' manufacturing website. This way you can read Birchbox member reviews and see the tutorials/videos they have on each product.

The Theme: Jetset

This month's box contained products that were seen as essentials for traveling. Several products were sampled and given to members this month, so there'a a huge variety in the products that everyone received. I can say, without a doubt, that I received one of the better boxes this month. This is solely due to the fact that I got a full sized product worth $36!! Remember, I only paid $10 for this box. Unfortunately, other boxes weren't so great for this month; however, it's like a cycle and I'm sure my box for next month won't be worth as much as this months. It was very satisfying that I got the full size item I wanted though!! I need to stop peeking at other people's birchbox before I get my own, but I'm just not that patient!

The Contents:
Color: Beauty Queen (Sheer Berry Pink) - Full size is $17.00
Review:

This was a product that I was really looking forward to getting in my Birchbox this month, because I've heard great things about the Balm! I really want to win their Nude 'Tude Naughty Palette from their fb contest that they have everyday. Didn't know about this? Just 'like' their Facebook page and write a post on their wall saying which product you would like to win and draw a name every weekday. I hope to win one day!

Anyway, I like this product on my lips, because its a nice sheer color and nothing to dark. It also comes in Prom Queen (Light Pink Color) and Homecoming Queen (Nude/Peach Color) shades. I'll add it a picture of this lip/cheek stain on me in a few days. I have not yet applied it to the apples of my cheeks yet, so I can't review that aspect of the product. I'm also not sure how often I will wear it on my cheeks, but I'll let you guys know how I like it. It is not sticky at all in consistency, so I'm sure it will feel fine once its blended.

#2. Birchbox Site: Stila's One Step Bronzing Serum
Stila's site: One Step Bronzing Serum
Full Size (received) is $36.00!
Review:

YAY!!!! Can't you tell I'm excited for this product?! Once I saw this beauty on the Birchbox June Sneakl Peek video that mentions all the products that are being sampled this month, I instantly wanted it! I don't have any liquid bronzers and this product is much different than your typical bronzing serum.

Birchbox definitely explains it best "The formula uses a trio of complementary pigments: coppery bronze adds warmth, pink-toned bronze evens out skin tone, and Kitten (one of stila’s best-loved shades) brightens and conceals with its soft shimmery champagne hues... In addition to sheer coverage, it delivers an anti-aging mineral complex that helps regulate oil production while shrinking the look of enlarged pores, fine lines, and wrinkles."

I love the shimmery look I get after applying this bronzer and it helps so much with evening my skin tone! I apply this after my Philosophy take a deep breath - oil-free energizing oxygen gel cream moisturizer (that I received in my June Glam Bag) and my face doesn't get oily all day! I have combination skin and while my cheeks are dry, my T zone gets pretty oily midday. With these two products I am now oil/shine free!

#3. Birchbox Site: Comodynes Self-Tanning Intensive
Comodynes' Site: Self-Tanning Intensive

Review:

I have not used these yet, but I am interested in using them. It is really nice that they gave us two wipes to be able to apply to more than just our face. These wipes take about 3 hours for the tan to fully show, but they are nice because you don't get that orange-fake-tan kind of look. This product actually blends well with your skin tone and brings out that warm, rich tan color. Well, that is what Birchbox says, anyway. I cannot yet say this is my own opinion, but will try this out soon. I'm trying to wait for an occasion that I would need to apply these. I am very "fair" in skin type but it doesn't bother me too much (I like to be able to pull off a ginger hair color).

Taylor Swift's Store: Wonderstruck Eau de Parfum Spray

Review:
So Taylor Swift is one of my guilty pleasures, but I can proudly announce that I love this fragrance! Its very light, flowery, and girly. I love, love, love it! I actually received a sample of this fragrance about two weeks ago when I got my NYX Jumbo Pencils (see post here). If I wanted to pay $49.50 for perfume, I'd definitely buy this. Sadly, I cannot afford to spend that, so its going on my birthday/Christmas list!

#5. (Extra) Birchbox Site: Luna Bar: Peanut Butter Cookie
Luna Bar's Site: Peanut Butter Cookie

Review:
Lastly, I got this mini Luna bar in Peanut Butter Cookie. It was scrumptious! My school sells Luna Bars so I am very familiar with them. I cannot remember having tried this particular flavor, but it was definitely a nice touch. This was added to the box as an essential to traveling, just in case that "snack craving" strikes mid-flight and you've already devoured your peanuts or pretzels. This comes in handy anytime you need a snack, in my opinion. Full size in a pack of 15 costs $18.75. This seems pretty steep, but individually my school was selling them for at least 2 bucks (they overcharge everything). So it would technically be cheaper to buy in bulk.  A 10 pack of minis (which is the size I received) costs $6.99. I think I'd go with the full size pack, but sometimes it can be hard to finish a full size bar (they can be very rich in taste depending on the flavor you choose).

Overall Verdict:

If you couldn't tell I definitely recommend Birchbox to anyone! Click that referral link, if you think you'd like to subscribe! Birchbox allows people to sample a wide range of products that they'd normally would either not have the time or opportunity to try out. I personally think its a great service. There may be glitches every now and then, but services like these are relatively new and might have problems along the way. I haven't had to deal with any issues like missing or damaged samples yet, but I'm sure I've read about it. Happens with Myglam sometimes too.

Let me know what you all think about this box. Did you receive a better or worse box?

"Unboxing" Video:

I also made an "unboxing" video for my Birchbox items. I'm not sure how I feel about the video since it is my first time filming myself. I never realized how hard it is to stare into a camera. I don't know how tv hosts do it! The audio quality is also not high end, so it sounds like I have a small lisp. I did not rehearse before I started filming, so its not the greatest, but I don't think its terrible for a first timer. I'm not sure why I elongate so many of my words during the video, but maybe it was because I was so nervous. I'm posting it as a learning experience and to let everyone know about how awesome Birchbox is!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

e.l.f. Haul post coming soon!

Just got my latest e.l.f. purchase in the mail today (After today I cannot buy anymore makeup for awhile!!!)

I should be receiving two more packages this week or next for giveaways that I won. I also have a post in draft form that I will finish soon. My review for birchbox took longer than I thought!

Myglam has really stepped up for June!

On Monday, I got my little pink bag in the mail and I was anxious to open it!

I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing Myglam's Glam Bag turned out for the month of June. This is only my second month with Myglam and have heard so many mixed reviews on their service. For those of you who haven't heard of Myglam before, it is a monthly (or yearly if you prefer) subscription service for only $10 a month (or $110 for the year and one free month). So what comes in a Glam Bag you ask? A variety of great products! For example, a bag can include 4-5 samples (some full size!) of either lip products, skin care products, hair care products, nail polishes or nail art, eye make up, etc. They've even given out their own brush set previously (for purchase on their pop-up shop).

So I know you are dying to know what was in my bag this month, right?

The bag's theme was "Out All Night" and the products are some essentials that you will need to keep your look long lasting.

The bag itself:

Usually the products come in a makeup bag with various designs, but this month came in an awesome gold glitter clutch. So cute! There was a slight smell to the bag, however I just sprayed mine with body mist to get rid of the smell. Other suggestions included putting the bag in the freezer. Something happened with the manufacturing of the bag and the glue that was used. Easy fix, though!

#1. Philosophy: take a deep breath - oil-free energizing oxygen gel cream moisturizer
"This lightweight moisturizer detoxifies and helps protect for a healthy-looking glow"

I really love this product because it gives your skin a refresher! You apply it in the morning and/or evening after your cleanser and it really helps keep your skin feeling good! My face hasn't gotten oily midday since I've started using this product. The nice thing is that the sample size is large enough for multiple uses and you don't have to use a lot of the product. It's so light that it hardly feels like I have anything on.

My sample was 12 mL/.4 fl oz. This product full size is 2 fl oz for $34. I'm not sure if I could afford this, but I definitely won't forget this product for when I actually have money!

#2. NYX: Round Lipstick in Iced Honey
"Incredible color that resists wear and smudging, let your lipstick last all night with an amazing velvety smooth, mineral formula"

At first I really loved the color without trying it on and I was stoked about getting a NYX lipstick. Once I actually tried it on, I was disappointed in how much it showed where I bite my lips. I did figure out a way to make it work though! If I use a lip balm before I apply this product it really helps to smooth out my lips or if I use a lip gloss after that helps a lot too. I need to exfoliate my lips, badly! I've been trying to get e.l.f.'s exfoliating lip treatment, but its out of stock currently. I'm not sure how well it actually stays on over time. I haven't worn this lip color enough to really confirm that it can last all night. I definitely think it can be smudged, though. I got a full size in my bag which is worth $4.00.

View from the top.
I really like this rosy color.
Here is the color on my lips (plus my Fresh Rose Tinted Lip Treatment).
#3. Living Proof: frizz Nourishing Styling Cream
"Stops frizz in its tracks, keeping all styles frizz-free, soft and smooth. Living Proof's miracle molecule, OFPMA, conquers frizz by blocking humidity without silicone or heavy oils"

Boy do I love and need this product! I have flyaways and frizz that need taming. This product is light enough not to make my hair look oily, which is a problem I have with most hair products. I've only used it once, but I could definitely see a change. I'll try to use it today and post a picture soon.

My sample was 60 mL/ 2 fl oz. Full size is 4 oz for $26. Which isn't too bad. Plus Myglam gives you a coupon for the whole set for $35! Which I might actually buy, since its an great deal.

#4. Marbella: Permanent Eyeliner Pen in Black
"Master the art of beautiful eyes with this unique waterproof, smudge free, and long lasting semi-permanent eyeliner pen"

This eyeliner is amazing! It is in fact waterproof, smudge free and semi-permanent. I tried rubbing it off my hand after I swatched it and it was hard to get off! Using soap and water or olive oil will also do the trick, but it came off using my face cleanser too. This liner is easy to apply and goes on smoothly. This eyeliner also has a duo-tip feature, so if one end starts getting dried out you can reverse the tip and use it like new. I also really love this product because I tend to rub my eyes and forget I'm wearing makeup so I smudge my eye liner often. It can be so frustrating, but now I don't have to worry about it! It also came full size which is worth $19!!
Here is a thin and thick line with this liner.
This is after I tried to get the liner off of my hand and its still  there. Can you see how its a little red from rubbing so hard? I saw other comments on Myglam's wall of members saying their liner is not waterproof. I guess I got a good one!
Here I have on the Marbella eye liner and the  NYX lipstick.
Overall Verdict:

This bag was totally worth $10!! I highly recommend Myglam to anyone. This service is great for those of you who don't have time to shop for makeup, who don't know what works well with your skin/hair type, or those of you looking for products you normally wouldn't shop for.

"6 Ways To Make Blue Eyes Pop" via The Beauty Department

This is a follow up post to one written previously about The Beauty Department.

A few weeks ago The Beauty Department completed their "shadow focus: eye color" theme, by focusing on blue eyes which they had not yet covered. They had only posted a color wheel, describing that since orange is directly across from blue those shades would make blue eyes come to life, and used an example photo of Jessica Pare. They have finally followed up that post with 6 great tips and example photos, due to an overwhelming amount of emails asking them to post more than one shade! You can find this post here

This picture is directly from The Beauty Department's post.
The post mentions that Copper is one of the best colors that compliments blue eyes. This made me extremely happy, since that is the color I dyed my hair! Now I know why I've been getting more and more compliments on my eyes :D

The next tip they gave was to smudge your liner and not focus too much on having a straight, defined line. They recommend Stila's Smudge Stick Waterproof Liner. I might have to try that! I tend to try to be a perfectionist with the liquid eye liner, but smudging seems like the way to go.

They also say that peach, apricot, champagne or gold family colors really work well, too. I wish they would have mentioned this instead of the orange! I fees as though those colors differ greatly. I will definitely take this tip into consideration and branch out to more colors.

Another of my favorite tips that they include is the classic wing, which I do all the time! They recommend black brown eye liner, which I try to utilize. They also say that bronze/brown shades work well to bring out blue eyes. I tend to use a lot of brown just because I like neutral colors. I guess I didn't lack too much of a makeup sense after all!

The last tip on the post talks about winged shadow (including the waterline) and a nude lip for balance. I have found that if you don't fill in the water line the look is just not complete. I still am looking for nude shades of lipstick/gloss. Hopefully I get one soon in my June Glambag, Birchbox, or Look Bag.
